Des Newton is a former Gaelic footballer and manager from County Roscommon, Ireland. He played with the Roscommon intercounty team from the 1970s until the 1980s. He won two Connacht Senior Football Championships and an All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship in 1978. He also played with Donegal.
As a manager he has been involved with Kilmacud Crokes for a number years and served as a selector. In 2011 he was appointed manager of the Roscommon senior team but stood down after the 2012 season.[1]
