The Rescue is a 1917 American silent drama film directed by Ida May Park and starring Lon Chaney.[1] It is not known whether the film currently survives,[1] which suggests that it is a lost film.

Plot

As described in a film magazine review,[2] Anne Wetherall (Phillips) returns to the stage after the court grants her a divorce. She returns to her former home when she finds out that her younger sister Betty (Malone) is throwing herself on her ex-husband Kent (Stowell). Her fight to win back her man from Betty ends up at the justice of the peace, where she an Kent are remarried. There is a subplot involving Kent's visits to a sanitarium on a houseboat which arise jealousy in Anne.
