Susan M. Carney (born 1962) is a justice of the Supreme Court of Alaska, appointed on May 12, 2016. She holds a seat in Fairbanks.
Previously Carney was a defense attorney with the Office of Public Advocacy and with the Alaska Public Defender Agency. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Carney earned her bachelor's degree in history & literature at Harvard-Radcliffe College and graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School. After law school, she clerked for Alaska Supreme Court Justice Jay Rabinowitz.[2]
