Visual Analytics for Sense-making in CRiminal Intelligence analysis (VALCRI) is a software tool that helps investigators to find related or relevant information in several criminal databases.[1][2] It is used by various police agencies.[3]

Features

The tool automatically searches the databases using dedicated search engines with one click. Normally, investigators would need to do an estimated 73 separate SQL queries for searching the various databases and this would take up to 3 days. The tool identifies similarities between cases, performs associative searching and comes up with reports in the same area and timeframe.[4]
