Des Mitchell is a British DJ and music producer, born in Birmingham, England. He is best known for his hit single "(Welcome) To the Dance" which peaked at number 5 on the UK Singles Chart in January 2000.

He was born Desmond Mitchell on 25 November 1957 at Birmingham general hospital. Home for the past 35 has been Spain, the last 31 years in Palma, Mallorca.

He was also a DJ for BBC Birmingham in 1982 with his own radio show playing reggae, funk & soul music.[1]
