Tangariki Reete is an I-Kiribati politician, who was the Member of Parliament for Betio.[1] She entered the House of Assembly in 2008 after the death of her father. She is a member of the Pillars of Truth (Boutokan Te Koaua) party,[2] and previously served as the Minister for Women, Youth and Social Affairs from 2013 until 2016. On 22 May 2020 she was elected as the Speaker of the House of Assembly, beating the previous Speaker, 25 votes to 19.
