Abudius Ruso was the only known member of the gens Abudia. He was a former aedile and a legate in Gaius Cornelius Lentulus Gaetulicus's army during the reign of emperor Tiberius.[1] He served in Upper Germania under Gnaeus Cornelius Lentulus Geatulicus. Ruso attacked his superior because of his connections to the Praetorian prefect Sejanus, who had fallen out of favor three years earlier. It is unclear whether there was a formal charge against Lentulus; in any case, he was not convicted, but Ruso was banished from Rome.[1]
