Seng Heng Engineering is a small and medium enterprise (SME) providing fasteners, turnkey machining and corrosion resistant coating products globally for the past 70 years.:[1][2]

History

Seng Heng Engineering started out as a small company founded by the late Mr Lau Kum Kuan, called Seng Heng Iron Works, producing bolts and nuts in the 1940s.

Since 2013, Seng Heng located at Joo Koon Circle, with a land area of 120,000 sq ft is managed by Mr Jeffrey Lau, the Chairman and Mr Jackie Lau, the managing director of the company.

Products

Seng Heng Engineering provides products and services to a wide range of industries such as Refineries and Petrochemical Plants, LNG Plants, Power Plants, Gas and Steam Turbine, Heavy Civil Construction, Offshore Platform, FPSO and Subsea (API 20E).[3]

In 1989, Seng Heng Engineering through the Singapore Institute of Standards and Industrial Research (SISIR) sought help from foreign experts to develop corrosion resistance coating and have enabled the company to break through the international market.[4] Below are the current different types of coatings that Seng Heng Engineering offers:

Milestones

1940 Founded by Mr Lau Kum Kuan in Chinatown called Seng Heng Iron Works.
1956 Moved to Geylang, with a land area of 1000 sq ft. Its company name changed to Seng Heng Engineering Contractor. Seng Heng’s nature of business was fabrication of iron grilled gate.
1979 Moved to Eunos with a land area of 27,000 sq ft. Its company name changed to Seng Heng Engineering Pte Ltd.
2006 Mr Jackie Lau joined Seng Heng after completion of his studies.
2008 Seng Heng bought Woodlands factory in the year 2008 to cater growing demands.
2010 Seng Heng obtained OHSAS and TUV certification.

Seng Heng obtained BizSAFE STAR certification.

2011 Completed HR capability program with Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) and SPRING Singapore.[5]
2012 Moved to Joo Koon Circle with a land area of 120,000 sq ft.

2014 Seng Heng obtained Singapore H.E.A.L.T.H. Award (Bronze).[7]
2015 Seng Heng becoming the first Southeast Asian company to receive 20E API Monogram license in June 2015.[8]
