Rosa Kornfeld-Matte was the first United Nations Independent Expert on the enjoyment of all human rights by older persons,[1] from May 2014 until May 2020.[2]

Previously, she served as the National Director of the Chilean National Service of Ageing and was the founder of the program for older persons at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.[3]
