Mesirow Financial is a financial services company based in Chicago. The firm is employee-owned. It provides investment management, capital markets, and investment banking services.[citation needed]

History

The company was founded in 1937 by Norman Mesirow.[1]

In January 2016, economist Diane Swonk and 3 employees left the firm.[2]

In July 2016, it sold its insurance business.[1]

In 2016, the company contributed $331,129 to political organizations, primarily to organizations affiliated with the Democratic Party.[3]

Management

On 14 April 2020, Mesirow Financial reported that the company has been joined by Katherine Wentrup-Estupinan as Senior Vice President, Business Growth. She is located in the firm's London office, next to David DiMatteo, Managing Director, who entered Mesirow Investment Banking in October 2019.[4]
