Polyblastia is a genus of lichenized fungi in the family Verrucariaceae. As of 2020, it consists of about 40 species combined with about 50 orphaned species.[1] The main difference with the genus Verrucaria is related to spores, which are muriform in Polyblastia. But the monophyly of Verrucariaceae is questionable (see Molecular phylogeny and systematics of Polyblastia (Verrucariaceae, Eurotiomycetes) and allied genera, Sanja SAVIC, Leif TIBELL, Cecile GUEIDAN, Francois LUTZONI, mycologicalresearch 112(2008)1307–1318).
