The 2020 Toulon Tournament (officially French: 48ème Festival International "Espoirs" – Tournoi Maurice Revello) will be the 48th edition of the Toulon Tournament. It will be held in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône. The tournament, originally scheduled to be played from 1 to 14 June 2020, was indefinitely postponed due to a COVID-19 pandemic in France.[1][2]
Brazil are the defending champions.
Participants
This will be the first appearance of Vietnam in the Toulon Tournament.[3] The Republic of Ireland was originally scheduled to the tournament, but later pulled out due to budget restriction.[4] Australia has also declared interests in participating in the competition.
The twelve teams will be drawn into three groups of four. In the group stage, each group will be played on a round-robin basis. The teams will be ranked according to points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss). If tie on points, the following criteria will be used to determine the ranking: 1. Goal difference; 2. Goals scored; 3. Fair play points. The group winners and the best runners-up will qualify for the semi-finals.
