Alex Newsome is an Australian rugby union player who plays as an outside back for the Super Rugby team the New South Wales Waratahs. He previously played for the Template:Rut Force. He has also represented Australia in the under 20s team. His god-brother Sam Starr was his inspiration to play Rugby Union as Alex was a promising soccer and netball player before trying Rugby Union.
