The stripe-faced wood quail (Odontophorus balliviani) is a species of New World Quail found in the eastern Puna grassland of Peru and western Bolivia. It is about 27 cm in length and weighs approximately 0.325 kg.
The binomial of this bird commemorates José Ballivián.
Feeding
The Stripe-faced wood quail eats insects and nuts especially in summer, as well as plants. Unlike many other bird species, they require a high protein diet.
