Davies is the brother of Billy Davies and the brother-in-law of John Spencer[1] former head coach of the Portland Timbers.[2] Billy Davies signed both his brother and Spencer when he was manager of Motherwell.[1]

He is also a FIFA qualified sports agent since 2006[3]
