Lucie Šafářová was the defending champion, but lost in the first round to Elena Vesnina.

Meghann Shaughnessy won in the final 1–6, 6–0, 6–4, against Anna Smashnova. This was the last WTA singles final that Smashnova participated in before her retirement in 2007, and was also the only final that she participated in and lost, having won 12 titles from 12 previous finals.
