Metsä Wood (formerly 'Finnforest') is part of Metsä Group, which covers the whole wood value chain.[1] Metsä Wood mainly provides engineered wood products for construction, industrial and distribution customers. Metsä Wood's primary products are Kerto® LVL (laminated veneer lumber) and birch and spruce plywood.[2]

Headquartered in Espoo, the company employs about 1.500 people.

Energy

Peat energy

Metsäliitto owned 33% of Vapo in 2002-2005 and 49.9% in 2005-2009. Vapo is the major peat energy producer in Finland. In 2009 ownership of Vapo was reconstructed to Suomen Energiavarat Oy, owned by EPV Energy (ex Etelä-Pohjanmaan Voima Oy) and several peat energy using companies.
