Masato Kawaguchi (川口 正人, Kawaguchi Masato, born June 18, 1981) is a former Japanese football player.

Playing career

Kawaguchi was born in Shibuya, Tokyo on June 18, 1981. He joined J1 League club Kyoto Purple Sanga from Yokohama F. Marinos youth team in 2000. On April 15, he debuted as substitute left side midfielder from the 35th minute against Kawasaki Frontale.[1] Next match in J.League Cup on April 19, he played full time as left side midfielder against Albirex Niigata.[2] However he could only play these match in 2000 and the club was relegated to J2 League from 2001. In 2001, he could not play at all in the match. In 2002, he moved to J2 club Albirex Niigata. However he could not play at all in the match. In 2003, he moved to Japan Football League (JFL) club Otsuka Pharmaceutical. In 2003, he played many matches and the club won the champions. In 2004, although the club won the champions for 2 years in a row and was promoted to J2 end of 2005 season, he could hardly play in the match. In 2005, he moved to newly was promoted to JFL club, Mitsubishi Mizushima. He played many matches as regular player in 5 seasons until 2009. However the club was relegated to Prefectural Leagues end of 2009 season due to financial strain. He retired end of 2009 season.
