Hippi is a 2019 Indian Telugu-language romantic action comedy film written and directed by T. N. Krishna and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu under his production banner V Creations.[1] The film stars Kartikeya Gummakonda and Digangana Suryavanshi in the prominent roles while J. D. Chakravarthy essays a supportive role in the film.[2] The film was predominantly shot with a lavish budget.[3] The principal photography of the film commenced on 9 November 2018.

Production
Following the box office success of the RX 100 which was released in May 2018, the lead actor received many callsheets from new directors as the actor revealed that he was confused on choosing the correct scripts to pursue his acting career.[4] Krishna who is known for his works in Kollywood decided to cast Kartikeya Gummakonda in the lead role in order to make a Telugu film.
The shooting of the film commenced on 9 November 2018 soon after the launching ceremony of the film in Hyderabad and the filmmakers revealed three posters of Kartikeya Gummakonda during the launch of the film.[5] The few portions of the film were shot in Hyderabad before the filmmakers paving the way to shot most of the portions of the film in Chennai. The remaining portions of the film are being shot in Sri Lanka.[6]
Soundtrack
The soundtrack was composed by Nivas K. Prasanna in his Telugu debut.

Marketing
The official teaser of the film was unveiled by actor Nani on 20 March 2019 and the teaser revealed the film will be a Summer release.[7][8][9]

Hippi was released on 6 June 2019.[10]
