The Boris Mints Institute at Tel Aviv University[1] was founded by Dr Boris Mints.[2] It encourages the research, planning and innovative thinking needed to create positive change in the world.[3] The Boris Mints Institute was established in 2016 at the Gershon H. Gordon Faculty of Social Sciences[4].

The Institute operates through five research labs:

The Institute runs an annual academic conference[5]. The Institute has collaborated with the Matanel Foundation to support small farmers in Africa by supporting two PhD grants.[6]

Boris Mints Institute Prize[7]

Each year since 2017, the Institute awards the Boris Mints Institute Prize.[8] The $100,000 prize is given to someone who has devoted their research and academic work to finding solutions for global challenges.[9] The prize has been awarded to:

2018 - Prof. Michael Kremer[11]

2019 - Dr. Peter H. Gleick[8][12]

2020 - Professor Sabina Alkire[9][13]
