Padidan (also spelled Pad Idan) (Urdu: پڈعیدن ) (Sindhi: پَڊيدن) is a town in Naushahro Feroze district of Sindh province in Pakistan. Padidan lies in jurisdiction of Noshero Feroz district. Padidan is located in the central part of Sindh on the main railway track. Padidan is also connected with Sukkur and Karachi by the main National Highway (Motor way) N-5, N-5 is away about 18 km from Padidan. Main railway line up to Peshawar and down to Karachi is the main transportation rout of citizens. Padidan have population more than 1,00,000, a traditional sindhi culture, shalwar qamiz is a common dress, Hijab is common in women's. Sindhi language is common here and politically people's party (PPP) is strong in the region. There is an office of Town committee which is responsible for manage the administration setup. Government facilities in Padidan are 1-Padidan Basic Health Unit. 2-Padidan Railway Station, 3-Padidan Police Station, 4-Pakistan Meteorological Department etc. Education of the town is very poor, so many private schools are available but quality is quite low. Only a single boys and girls high school is present here for the graduation students have to move forward about 18–80 km. While agriculture is the main source of employment for the rural population of the town, in the urban areas of the city, people are engaged in various other economic activities like trade, services, personal business, and government and private jobs. Padidan city is the main trading center of this district. The main livelihood for the town is agricultural, 70% of the population is involved in agricultural activities. That's why padidan is popular in entire Sindh for the manufacturing of agricultural equipment's. The best implements manufacturer “Al-Shahbaz Agricultural Engineering works” is also situated here. Town is facing so many issues like there is Narrow roads in the town which cause traffic congestion in the peak hours. No academy is available for the graduation studies. Poor solid waste management is observed which is causing severe diseases in the community. Only a single BHU is here which is not sufficient for the padidan population which really needs for attention. Convention hall is not available for the population of town and they face many troubles. Education and health issues of the town also need attention of government. It is located at 26° 46 North 68° 17 East and has an altitude of 150 feet (46 m).
