Robert Jerald Keyes (April 13, 1936 - July 9, 1978) was an all American football player, a teacher and politician. Keyes played one season with the San Francisco 49ers 1959 - 1960 and one season with the newly formed Oakland Raiders 1960 - 1961.[1]Keyes was the head of the business department at Marian High School., Imperial Beach Ca., 1962 - 1964. He was the coach of the varsity track team and the assistant varsity football coach for St. Augustine High School., San Diego Ca., 1964 - 1966. in 1966 he was a salesman for Continental Assurance Company., San Diego, Ca where he was salesman of the year. From 1967 - 1972 Keyes was Governor of California Ronald Reagan's Special Assistant for Community Relations and Director of Urban Affairs. 1972 he was corporate director of Urban Affairs for Lockheed Aircraft Corp. In 1972 Keyes was also the Deputy Chief of Protocol for the state of California.
