Caulfield or Caulfeild is a surname of several separate origins.[1] The name is usually a simplified form of a number of Gaelic surnames, often MacCathmhaoil, an Ulster family traditionally descended from Niall of the Nine Hostages.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] Caulfield is also the name of an unrelated Anglo-Irish family.
