List of storms named Felix
Appearance
The name Felix was used for four tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean, all of which reached hurricane strength.
- Hurricane Felix (1989) - A Category 1 storm that dissipated in the Atlantic without threatening land.
- Hurricane Felix (1995) - Category 4 storm that passed near enough to Bermuda to delay its independence referendum; caused high surf that drowned eight on the New Jersey and North Carolina coasts.
- Hurricane Felix (2001) - formed as a depression near Cape Verde, degenerated, reformed, reached Category 3 but never threatened land.
- Hurricane Felix (2007) - A Category 5 hurricane in the Caribbean Sea which made landfall in northern Nicaragua, killing 133.
The name was retired after the 2007 season, and was replaced by Fernand for the 2013 season.
The name Felix was used for one tropical cyclone in the Australian region:
- Cyclone Felix (1980) - did not affect land.
The name Felix has also been used once in France, Spain and Portugal's windstorm naming system.
