The Giver of Stars is a 2019 historical fiction book by Jojo Moyes about packhorse librarians in a remote area of Kentucky.

Description

British author Jojo Moyes wrote The Giver of Stars, which was published in 2019. It is named after a poem by Amy Lowell. It is historical fiction[1] about packhorse librarians in a remote area of Kentucky.[2]

Reception

The book was included on Hello Sunshine's book club.[3] Claims were made that it plagiarized from The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kentucky native Kim Michele Richardson.[3] It charted on Apple and Amazon's top-selling books lists.[4][5]

The book was shortlisted for the 2020 Fiction Book of the Year in the British Book Awards.[6]
