Salvinu Schembri (19 October 1923 – 15 December 2008) was a professional footballer, during his career he played for Sliema Wanderers, Valletta and Ħamrun Spartans, where he played as a midfielder. He also played in full international matches for the Malta national football team.

Death

Salvinu died on 15 December 2008, at the age of 85, his funeral was held two days later on 17 December 2008.[1]

Personal life

Schembri is the father of Mdina Knights Technical Director and former Gżira United and Malta international striker Eric Schembri.[2] He is the grandfather of Omonia Nicosia and Malta international attacking midfielder André Schembri.
