This is an index to the lists of notable Légion d'honneur recipients. The Légion d'honneur is the highest order of France. A complete, chronological list of the members of the Legion of Honour nominated from the first ceremony in 1803 to now does not exist. The number is estimated at one million including about 3,000 Grand Cross.[1][2] The list is intended to contain only those who are considered notable at Wikipedia, as demonstrated by their having articles,.
