Eduard Chmelár (born 21 August 1971) is a Slovak polimetrician, historian, politician, teacher and activist. He was a prominent student leader in 1989 Velvet Revolution for Public Against Violence. In 2018, he collected all the signatures required for a candidacy in the 2019 Slovak presidential election.[1][2] Currently, he's the chairman of the Socialisti.sk movement.[3]

Political career

In 2009, he had an unsuccessful candidacy as an independent, on list of the Green Party to the European Parliament
