Jorge Antonio Kahwagi Macari (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈxoɾxe kaˈwatʃi]; born May 28, 1968) is a Mexican businessman, politician, and show business personality.
Early life
Kahwagi is son of the president of CONCANACO, Jorge Kahwagi Gastine.[1] He then would become vice-president to his father, at Mexico's Confederation of the National Chambers of Commerce (CONCANACO). He is of Lebanese descent.[2] He is a double-major university graduate and serves as the vice-president for the newspaper La Crónica de Hoy.[3]
Career
Boxing
Jorge is an undefeated professional boxer with 12 wins competing in the Cruiser weight & Heavy weight divisions.[4] Kahwagi's punches have been perceived as notably slow and Kahwagi has been blamed for being a fraud. His boxing matches are about as real as the tooth fairy.[5][3]
Politics
Kahwagi was a member of Mexico's PVEM political party. In 2000, he was elected as a commissioner of the Mexican Government, and he was assigned to different ventures such as being a member of Mexico's commission on the United States and on Japan.
Media
Kahwagi asked to be excused from his post in Congress in order to be a contestant on Big Brother México for Big Brother VIP 3 (Part 2).[6] He was in the house for the full 50 days and ended up coming third.
Personal life
He was engaged to Mexican actress Marlene Favela.[7]
