Mari Andrew is a writer and illustrator in New York City. Her career started as a hobby in 2015 when she was recovering from a painful break-up and the death of her father. She started by holding herself accountable to posting one doodle per day on Instagram.[1] Andrew's first book, Am I There Yet?: The Loop-de-loop, Zigzagging Journey to Adulthood, debuted March 27, 2018.[2][3]

Mari's father is Sam Andrew, an American musician, singer, songwriter, composer, artist and founding member and guitarist of Big Brother and the Holding Company.[4][5] Mari was previously diagnosed with Guillain–Barré syndrome, which left her paralyzed for two months in 2017.[citation needed]
