Marana Unified School District (MUSD) is an Arizona school district comprising 18 schools in Pima County, Arizona. It has its headquarters in Marana.[1]
As of December 2018, MUSD had over 12,200 students and 1600 employees. Founded in the early 1920s, MUSD's boundaries include 550 square miles (1,400 km2) of land.
Schools
The Marana Unified School District has a total of 18 schools, 10 elementary schools, 1 K-8 school, a CSTEM K-8 school due to open in the Fall of 2019, 2 middle schools, 3 high schools and one alternative school.
Elementary schools
MUSD has 9 elementary schools, Butterfield Elementary (Casas Adobes Community Advocate, Casas Adobes),[2] Coyote Trail Elementary (Marana),[3] DeGrazia Elementary (Cortaro),[4] Picture Rocks Elementary (Picture Rocks),[5] Marjorie W. Estes Elementary (Marana),[6] Ironwood Elementary (Casas Adobes Community Advocate, Casas Adobes),[7] Quail Run Elementary (Casas Adobes Community Advocate, Cortaro),[8] Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary (Marana),[9] Roadrunner Elementary (Avra Valley),[10] and Thornydale Elementary which has closed down it the 2018-2019 school year(Casas Adobes Community Advocate, Casas Adobes).[11]
K-8 schools
Twin Peaks Elementary (Marana),[12] CSTEM K-8 school due to open in the Fall of 2019 (Dove Mountain) [13]
Middle schools
MUSD has two middle schools, Marana Middle (Marana)[14] and Tortolita Middle (Cortaro).[15]
High schools
MUSD has three high schools, Mountain View High School (Cortaro),[16] Marana High School (Marana),[17] and MCAT High School (Marana).[18]
