Bruce Hajek is the Center for Advanced Study Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Professor in the Coordinated Science Laboratory, and Hoeft Chair in Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.[1] His research spans communication networks, auction theory, stochastic analysis, combinatorial optimization, machine learning, information theory, as well as bioinformatics.
He was elected into the National Academy of Engineering in 1999,[2] and he is the 2003 winner of the IEEE Koji Kobayashi Computers and Communications Award.
He is the author of the book Random Processes for Engineers (Cambridge University Press, 2015, ISBN 9781107100121).
