Duke of Groove is a 1995 American short film directed by Griffin Dunne. It was nominated for Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film.[1][2][3]

Plot

A hippie mother (Kate Capshaw) takes her awkward teenage son (Tobey Maguire)[4] to a party, making sure he will not be at home when father leaves the family for good in early 1970s suburbia.
