Venkataramanan Balakrishnan

Venkataramanan Balakrishnan, Michael and Katherine Birck Head Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2012[1] for contributions to convex optimization in control systems.

Education

Balakrishnan received a B.Tech. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India. He attended Stanford University where he received a M.S. degree in Statistics followed by a M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering.[2]
