Pakhli Sultanate also known as Gabari Kingdom(1190-1519) was founded by two brothers Sultan Pakhal and Sultan Behram spreading from Jalalabad(Afghanistan) to Kashmir .Gabari is branch of Swati Tribe so name of kingdom is taken from there .First Muslim Sultan of Kashmir Shah mir was also a Gabari Swati .The archaeological remains found here suggest that this was a place of great Buddhist learning. In the Rajatarangini this place now appeared as a separate kingdom and then again as tributary to the Kashmir valley. The Ain-i-Akbari refers to this entire region as Sarkar Pakhli, which formed a part of the larger Kashmir province ,Hazara division ,Malakand division and parts of Afghanistan
