"Soon Be Done" is the third single from the Jamaican reggae artist Shaggy's first studio album, Pure Pleasure.
Background
The single was released on October 14, 1993, following the success of the singles "Oh Carolina" and "Nice and Lovely". The song was considered[by whom?] a step away from the simplicity of the previous singles and, as such, the release was surrounded by controversy. A music video for the song was premiered in September 1993 and, in 2009, was made available via Shaggy's official VEVO account. The music video shows Shaggy performing the song in an underground setting. The single peaked at #39 on the UK Singles Chart, six places higher than "Nice and Lovely". It was only released in the United Kingdom and Europe.
