B. S. Saroja (born 18 November 1929) is an Indian actress in Malayalam movies and Tamil movies.[1] She is the daughter of Johnson, who acted in the first Malayalam film, Vigathakumaran.[2]
Personal life
She was born to Johnson and Rajalakshmi at Thiruvananthapuram in 1929. She studied till fourth grade. Then she joined a circus company, with which she traveled all over India. Then she acted in a Tamil movie as a junior artist. Jeevitha Nouka was her first Malayalam movie.[3] She went on to act many movies after that.[4] She was married to late T. R. Ramanna in 1949, a sound engineer turned movie director in Tamil movies. The couple started three cinema production companies known as R.R.Pictures, Vinayaga Pictures and Ganesh Pictures. They have three children. They are settled at Chennai.[clarification needed]
