1. Allgemeine Verunsicherung is the first album from the Austrian band Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung. It is actually self-titled as in written German, cardinal numbers with a full stop after them are converted to being ordinal numbers, therefore 1. in German actually relates to first as opposed to the number 1.

The album, like the rest of is mainly in German with a few English words or phrases here and there. Some of the titles are actually in English, however they are still mainly in German.

As mentioned in the main Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung article, the band often changed their members. The material on this album differs considerably from the music the band later went on to produce.

The album was released only in Austria in 1978 and only on vinyl, catalogue number EMI Columbia 12C 054-33230. Original copies are very hard to find[citation needed], however in 2015, the album was reissued on CD.[1] No songs from this album were released as singles.

The song entitled "Pustel Gunkel" makes some reference to Helena Rubinstein.
