(European Patrol Corvette), in the past „PPX“ is an PESCO-Project under supervision of Italy with partners France, Spain, Portugal[1] and Greece. The task force sets itself the goal to draft and develop a new family of warships (NATO War Limited Ship).[2] The ships will have a conventional hull of different dimensions, armament and propulsion systems. At least three versions are planned:

  • a patrol ship for Italy and Spain
  • a long range one for France (to reach overseas territories)
  • a stronger battle version for Greece

The participating Member States aim to produce their first corvette prototype in 2026-2027. [3]
