Andre LaMothe is a well-known game programming author. He is best known for classics like Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus, Windows Game Programming for Dummies, the older Tricks of the Game-Programming Gurus and Black Art of 3D Game Programming: Writing Your Own High-Speed 3D Polygon Video Games in C, and his more recent Tricks of the 3D Game Programming Gurus-Advanced 3D Graphics and Rasterization. His programming knowledge extends to over 24 years or experience, and is considered to be primarily a C and Java programmer, and does C++ programming aswell. He holds degrees in mathematics, computer science, and electrical engineering.

LaMothe is also the founder of Xtreme Games LLC, which spans 269 companies and claims the title of "worlds largest virtual game company."

LaMothe is generally considerd to be a humourous author. The positives and negatives of his humor have often been debated.
