On 25 November 2016, Nicol played for Glasgow Warriors against Ospreys in the Pro12, replacing D'Arcy Rae at Tighthead Prop.[10] He became Glasgow Warrior No. 275.

He played again for Glasgow Warriors in their opening match of the 2017-18 season - against Northampton Saints at Bridgehaugh Park, Stirling on 19 August 2017.[12] He made 18 competitive appearances for the club.[13]

He then moved up in his international career with Scotland at Under 18 level, playing against England in Match 2015.[7]
