Adrián Maximiliano Nario Pérez (New Jersey, United States, September 12, 1976), better known as El Bananero, is an producer and Internet phenomenon, known for uploading his Class B videos with irreverent humor and obscene language. website elbananero.com since 2005, and later to YouTube. It is one of the pioneers in the platform and symbol of a decade of popular entertainment at the beginning of the digital era, according to the newspaper El Universo.[2]
Biography
Adrián Nario was born in New Jersey, United States and from 8 years of age moved to Montevideo, Uruguay, where he lived until in 2005 he moved to Miami, United States.[3][4]
At the age of six, his parents left him alone at home when they went to work, so Adrian knew the adult channels of cable television.[3] In the school he was shy and to please his classmates, Adrian recorded the pornography of the television to show it to his companions.[3][5]
Before migrating to the United States, Adrián belonged to the Uruguayan ska punk band Once Tiros, being part of his first training.[4]
Internet phenomenon
Beginnings on the web
In 2005, Adrián decides to make videos to have fun with his friends, with a satirical, irreverent, vulgar, macho, eschatological and obscene content, where he mocks taboo subjects such as sex and parodies of famous films with their own productions, capturing the online attention in Latin America,[3][4][6] he created his own website called elbananero.com to upload his videos and share them with his co-workers, who told other friends and thus went viral with his pseudonym El Bananero.[4][7][6] One year later, after the creation of YouTube, he opened his channel where he also uploaded his videos, and he made a basic video per week during the first three months, after one year. its content came to have visits of 15,000 to 20,000 people, becoming an internet celebrity, or as he calls himself "Class B celebrity", being popular among teenagers between 15 years of age.[4] Normally its rhythm when creating a video is of weeks or months, this did not affect the first years because they did not lose relevance, however nowadays the trends are proliferating that lose relevance soon.[4]
Videos
Among its content is the "Trailerazos", which are trailers in parody of Hollywood movies with original content from the movies.[8][7] On the "Trailerazos" are "El Hombre que araña" (spoof of Spider-Man) , "Harry el Sucio Potter" (parody of Harry Potter that obtained more than one hundred million views at the time), "El Impotente Hulk" (parody of Hulk), etc.[4][7][9] The parody of the animated series He-Man made by El Bananero is "Iván el Trolazo", which is why they closed the YouTube channel when it was claimed by Mattel, however it opened another channel that reached 1 million subscribers in 2016.[3][5][7] Among its featured videos is "Muñeca System".[4]
Due to the graphic content in their videos, where sexual organs are usually shown, their videos have been removed from the platform, so they started to put a censorship poster in those parts of the video for their version on YouTube, while on their page web keeps it uncensored.[10]
In January 2015, El Bananero surprised his followers on Twitter, by publishing a photo with one of the most popular pornstar actresses of the moment, Mia Khalifa, with whom he uploaded a video for his channel called Mia Khalifa vs La Muñeca Psicótica System.[11]
Shows in Latin America
In addition to making a living in a daily job as an audiovisual producer and as a youtuber, he also toured Latin America since 2014.[3][5] He has presented his stand up comedy show with a tone for adults, in countries such as Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica , Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay, Chile, Bolivia, among others.[3][12][9][13][7][2]
In 2016, in a live television interview for CNN Chile, El Bananero said goodbye showing a penis drawn on his chest, and said he wanted to teach the manhood member on CNN before saying goodbye.[14]
