Advani Lakshmi Devi is a veteran Kannada film actress. She has played a variety of roles such as heroine, vamp, mother, grandmother in hundreds of Kannada movies over the last 50 years.[1] Her role in Kannada Movies Gandhada Gudi and Srinivasa Kalyana as mother (male role played by Dr. Rajkumar) is much remembered. She is the mother of veteran actress Roopadevi who acted in many Kannada movies with Dr. Raj Kumar such as Haalu Jenu, Samayada Gombe and Yarivanu. Dr.Rajkumar holds the distinction of having played hero and son's role with her. Dr.Rajkumar holds the distinction of having played the hero to both Roopadevi (in 3 movies) and her mother Advani Lakshmi Devi (in Sri Ramanjaneya Yuddha). Lakshmi Devi recently honoured with Dr. Rajkumar lifetime achievement award 2016 by the state government of Karnataka.
