An advertising account executive is an employee of an advertising agency who acts as the main link between one or more clients and the rest of the agency. The executive is primarily responsible for the day-to-day running of one or more clients' advertising campaigns.[1][2] An advertising account executive could also work directly for the mass media companies. In those cases, their primary responsibility is to educate business owners on how their agency's media can help them increase their businesses.

Job positions and titles for advertising account executives might include Account Co-ordinator, Business Co-ordinator, Account Manager, Business Manager, Account Director, Business Director, Group Account Director, Group Business Director and Client Service Director.[citation needed]
