Agats is a town in Asmat Regency, Papua, Indonesia and the administrative center of the Asmat Regency. It had a population of 1,400 as of 2010.[1] The town is located near the estuary of the Aswetsj River.[1] The Dutch set up a government post at Agats in 1938.[2]
