Ajdabiya or Agedabia is a town in and capital of Al Wahat District in northeastern Libya. It is some 160km (100 m) south of Benghazi. From 2001 to 2007 it was part of and capital of Ajdabiya District. The town is divided into three Basic People's Congresses: North Ajdabiya, West Ajdabiya and East Ajdabiya.[2]

Transport

  • It is a likely recipient of a station on the Libyan railway network, under construction in 2008. The interstate line through Tobruk may diverge here from the coastal line to Benghazi to avoid difficult coast terrain and to save distance. [3]
