Alexander 'Alex' Steel (25 July 1886–?) was a Scottish professional footballer who played for Newmilns, Ayr United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Kilmarnock, Southend United and Gillingham.[1]

Football career

Steel began his career at his local Non League club Newmilns before joining Ayr United. In 1905 he joined Manchester City and made 30 appearances and scored once for the Hyde Road club. The right half signed for Tottenham Hotspur in 1909 and played in one match for the Spurs. [2] After leaving White Hart Lane he had spells at Kilmarnock, Southend United and finally Gillingham where he ended his playing career.
