Alfred "Alf" Watson from Portobello Housing estate, Wakefield, is an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1930s, playing at representative level for England, and at club level for Wakefield Trinity, and Leeds. He was a Prisoner of war in World War II.
Playing career
International honours
Alf Watson won a cap for England while at Leeds in 1938 against Wales.[1]
County Cup final appearances
Alf Watson played Loose forward/Lock in Wakefield Trinity's 2-9 defeat by York in the 1936 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1936–37 season at Headingley Stadium, Leeds on Saturday 17 October 1936.
Club career
Alf Watson made his début for Wakefield Trinity in the 11-8 victory over Acton and Willesden R.L.F.C..
