Amy Lauren Ruth Rutberg (born November 11, 1981) is an American actress. She is known for her role as Marci Stahl in Daredevil.

Early life

Born in Los Angeles, Rutberg became interested in acting at a young age after watching a production of Peter Pan of which she was "carried away screaming...because she was certain Peter would be back to fly her to Neverland". Rutberg had a very precocious childhood as she restricted herself to studying intently until she attended Citrus College at the age of fourteen. She transferred to University of California, Los Angeles where she continued to study other subjects like law. Just before turning seventeen, she acquired an agent and decided to pursue acting.[1]

Career

Rutberg began making guest appearances in shows such as Blindspot, NCIS: New Orleans, The Blacklist, Elementary and Taken.[2][3]

In 2015, Rutberg made her debut in Daredevil as Marci Stahl, girlfriend to Foggy Nelson. After having her first child, Rutberg found herself auditioning for a mysterious role that she did not think she would get. All she knew was that the character was named Marci and that she had " a nice connection to her". She finally received a call telling her, "Hey, it looks like you might book this job, you’re up for the final approval. By the way, it’s for the first Marvel Netflix show Daredevil." Rutberg was so excited that she would constantly ask Joe Quesada when Marci was going to make a comic appearance. Although Marci was only supposed to appear in one episode, she would instead go on to be a recurring character through the first three seasons, as well as a guest appearance in The Defenders.[4]

In 2018, Rutberg joined the cast of the ABC television reboot of the Blaxploitation series Get Christie Love! which will also star Kylie Bunbury.[3]

Personal life

Amy Rutberg is married and has one child.[2]
