Andrzej Bobola Maria Schinzel (born April 5, 1937)[1] is a Polish mathematician, studying mainly number theory. His principal interest is the theory of polynomials. He is a professor at the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IM PAN). A conjecture of his on the prime values of polynomials, known as Schinzel's hypothesis H, has attracted the attention of many number theorists.

Schinzel received his Ph.D. in 1960 from Warsaw University,[2] where he studied under Wacław Sierpiński.
